Car wash techniques

Hi guys. I have a 2 problems that I need help with.
The first one is when my truck is dirty and I wash it, I don't see and dirt in the wash bucket. I think I should see something. Am I wrong or is my car soap doing an extremely great job with my wool wash mitt? I'm using Poor Boy's car wash which is great and a wool mitt I got from Griot's garage.
My second problem is water stains that are left after I wash and dry that were there before I started. Do I need to polish that out and if so, which product do you guys suggest? If I don't need polish then what do I need to use?
I appreciate the help down here in the good old Virgin Islands.

If you are using a multiple bucket method, there shouldn't be any dirt/grime in your soapy water bucket, only in your rinse buckets.

Yes, it sounds like you need to polish out the water marks you mentioned. Any chemical polish should work to help in removing those.

first I would get a gritt gaurd for your bucket.
second I would sheet the water over your vehicle to remove the risk of water spots.

I must confess that I've only been using one bucket and no grit guard.
Any suggestions on polish brands? I'm considering Poor Boys.

you will be very happy with poorboys, fine choice
majority of problems in your cars paint come from improper washing and drying technices.

All good responses so far.

Something that I do to try and mitigate the water spots is to use Poorboys' S&W or S&G as I dry the vehicle. If there are spots after drying I use S&W with a MF towel to wipe them out.

If that does not work I use a chemical polish like Poorboy's ProPolish or KAIO to take the spots off. Hopefully that is all that one needs to get rid of fresh water spots.

If a full detail with clay and corrective polish is in the works water spots will soon fall by the wayside using proper pads and polish with either PC or hand application.
