Car wash place with distilled water

I've heard of self-car-wash places that pumps out distilled water so that you don't get water spots on your car. Anyone familiar with such places and where they might be located in the Los Angeles area?

Hmmm... Interesting concept. You might want to try searching on google.com if nothing else turns up. Or go to a detail shop you do know of and ask them if they have ever heard of one. If they are in the LA area then its competition and detail shops are usually pretty aware of their comptetition.

Yeah, I go to the coin op car wash in North Hollywood at Cahuenga and Burbank, it has a spot free rinse setting. I think most of the coin ops have a spot free rinse setting. When I use it, I can drive the car home wet and just wipe the remaining water off and I get no spots at all. Much better solution than when I used the hose at my house which caused water spots when the water dripped from the mirriors and moldings.

I'm not sure but I don't think that is distilled water for the spot free rinse. I think they add something along the lines of Jetdry to the regular water.

You are probably right, however, I have never had any water spots or other detrimental effects to my paint from using this. It sure beats the water straight from the faucet. BTW, the original question mentioned "no water spots", that is why I answered.

What exactly does Jetdry do for you if you're just adding it to your water? Since it's just adding, I'm thinking the minerals are still there then.

Could you give me the address of that place?

Also, are there others in the LA area?

As i said, it's on Cahuenga Blvd at the northwest corner of Burbank Blvd, you can't miss it.

All over the SFV.

I'm guessing that the Jetdry would be something like what you add to the water when you are developing film. It makes the water sheet off the film, so it won't dry with spots. The minerals are still in the water, but they don't dry onto the film. When I was a poor student, we used to use a drop of dishwashing liquid in the final rinse of the film.
