Car was Spray Painted, what now?

Hello all,

My neighbors car was spray painted with white spray paint as it sat outside.

They covered the entire drivers side with gang symbols.

It is a dark green honda Civic. The stuff was on there for about 12 hours, and was baking in 100 degree Tucson Sun for 8 hours.

I tried a clay bar, but it was no use at all. Someone suggested mineral spirits, but wouldnt this harm the paint?

The stuff is really on there. Any suggestions, short of a repaint?

I think there is close to 5 grand worth of damage, if the stuff cant be removed. Its a hard color to match and a brand new car.

There is a tremendous amount of paint on it.

Thanks,

Eric

If all else fails, nail polish remover. It has saved me in the past. You will need to buff after using but the paint should come off.

Good Luck

Just polishing (with a rotary if a PC + abrasive isn't enough) and possibly wetsanding before that to just-before you break through the white paint and then finish up with polishing. This is the route I'd take atleast.

*edit and I'd use clay where it is fading between painted and not painted where there may be an overspray-like condition, just so you aren't wetsanding away paint needlessly or geting paint beads stuck in your buffing pad. More agressive clay than you have may also be of use.
