Car Show 'detailers'

I went with my father and I was doing the same thing! I also like the product corner where you can buy Liquid Lustre and IBIZ wax from those con men for $20 a bottle.

I know what your saying Spilchy!!! Last year, there was not one booth...but 4 booths of people selling the same wax/sealant. They all had some sort of panel that they would treat, and loved to show how the water just beads up and runs off. I'm betting that there will be the same amount of vendors this time around, so I plan on taking pictures of their "wonder" wax.

i know just what you guys are talking about. I went to the San Diego show this past weekend and saw the samething. I was like "AH!!!"

Autopia had a booth there and I went to go buy a new sheep skin mit.

honestly 90% of the general public has zero to little know-how when it comes to correctly detailing/washing a car. So when some guy says..."i'm a show car detailer" they just assume that he knows what he is doing. That's how so many of these hacks do so well.

Just sit and watch people in those Do-It-yourself carwashes. The things they do will amaze you.

BTW what is that IBIZ wax?

You guys are sick! ;)

I was watching some movie a few months ago (I think Will Smith was in it). He's getting picked up at an airport by a SUV limo. As they open the limo door, all you (well, I) could see was how bad the paint was.

That movie was Bad Boys 2...Wife and I were watching it on the big screen and when that scene goes by and the door opens...BAM...and away its gone. I go "DID YOU SEE THAT!?"..to which my wife, who's never actually worked on a car before says "WOW, those swirl marks were bad"

I believe I was a bit too proud of her at that moment :2thumbs:
