Car Shampoo/Soap Question

I have filtered though the posts of car soap and have found that ppl are content with 1) Armor All Soap and 2) Eagle One. I was at Canadia Tire recently and saw they had Mother's soap as well. In reading the limited literature I was interested right away. Anyone know what would be the best of the three? I want something that laters well. I find a lot of soaps just don't lather well at all. I want suds!

Personally I think suds are totally useless and get in the way of me seeing the water, but if you want suds try looking for Meguiar's Rich Suds which is supposed to be tailored for suds freaks. :D

I've heard good things about Mothers shampoo though. Smells like bubble gum. :)

Out of the things they have at Canadian tire, I would get the blue Zymol stuff. It actually works pretty well and smells really good. Quite slippery, but relatively expensive (500mL for ~$10)

Eagle one is average, but cheap. You can get 1.9L for about ~$10

I would say Mother's is quite average too..- but smells good

Meguiars gold class - pretty good shampoo, can't seem to get the same price as americans ($8US per gallon)

If you want a really good car wash for average price, go to the BMW dealer and get yourself 4L of their BMW auto wash..its about $33 but is super concentrated and will last you 3 years of weekly washings. It is supposedly repackaged Sonax or P21s. It is very slippery and super lathers. Has an OK mild smell.

I ended up getting the autowahs from my local BMW dealership. In taking another look around I found a thread that described it as either Sonax of PS21. The is definitely the best bet.

I like the wash from Zaino.

By the way, suds are totally useless to washing, literally all detergents have a sudsing additive because people think more suds = better cleaning. It's purely psychological, people will resist a shampoo withh no suds even though it will work as well as one with lots of suds.

I have both Mother's and Gold Class shampoos and the Gold Class is slightly better and rinses really well as its sheeting action is better. The Mother's does do the job quite well and smells good. My car is washed regularly so it never gets super dirty. Also, I've used Pinnacle's shampoo (about $19) which I found to be very very sudsy and cleans really well but it seems to strip a lot of wax off the car.

I've tried the Mother's shampoo...as well as Meguiar's Gold Class and Pinnacle. I really like the Pinnacle but it's expensive, so I stick with Meguiar's. At 9 bucks a gallon, it's the best wash for the price IMO.
