Car got egged tonight

Well what a crappy night this has been. I worked 2-10 tonight and when I walked out to my car, there was egg on my hood and roof. Good thing they didn't do the whole car, but I had yolk lines almost everywhere. I called the cops but they said it probably wasn't worth having a cop come look at it since it was Halloween night. I sped home and quickly washed it off as fast as I could and I'm pretty sure that I got it off in time before it did any damage. As of right now, after a good, long, thorough wash, I don't see any damage done (thank god). I think my multiple coats of Zaino really helped me out here.

Tommorow I'm going to go to my manager and see if theres anything on the parking lot security tapes. Right now I would seriously like to beat the living piss out of whoever did this. Being an automotive detailer, this was a stab to my heart :furious: and this is the first time my car has been vandalized.

That's terrible... sorry that happened to you! I hope you catch the idiots who did that and make them pay!

People the world over should understand: you never touch a guy's car, but you especially never even THINK about touching an Autopian's car :bat

Aw man, I'm glad it didn't damage the paint. People can be real idiots, but hopefully you figure out who did it and throw an egg at their face.

I feel you though...my neighborhood sucks now, and me having two Benzes, and not being home tonight and the garage unusable due to home renovations, I freaked out about what I was going to do b/c our house tends to be an attention magnet. I ended up leaving the one that had it's own cover at home under wraps, and taking the other one with me and keeping a close eye on it. Luckily I didn't have the same fate as you.

Thanks guys :\

And well I just went out to check on it again... I do have a spot on my hood where the egg landed which is now all chipped up and can tell which direction it was thrown from.

God I'm just so furious at this. I don't have any enemies, I am not a hateful person, I just get up every day and go to work and try to help out society as best as I can and then this **** has to happen. I don't deserve this!!

Yup, that's tough to avoid. I can't believe something as fragile as an egg can actually chip the paint so badly. Happened to me several years ago... i feel for you. :(

I was of the same verb until last year"s halloween. Actually is was the week after Halloween but I came out in the morning to start the truck up to get ready to take my brother to the airport for his return to Juneau, Ak. when I saw the yoke sticking to the side of my truck. I did a quick S&W clean up and drove to the airport. I did not notice the damage that was inflicted by the egg that was thrown with quite some force on the side of the truck.

For a novice it mite not be bad because I touched it up a little bit. Yet, for an avid detailer, everytime that I do anything on that panel I notice the chipped paint.

I feel for you as well, Ryan314

Egg won't hurt the paint, but the shell will, depending on if the person doing the egging is driving by. I was with my dad when someone threw a egg at his car doing about 65 mph. It must have hit on the end of the egg because it broke the windshield.

I thought most Autopians had some sort of system for Halloween? Be it cover the car w/a tarp or tuck it away out of sight.

I kept mine behind the house. Luckily we didn't have an egg problem in our neighborhood this year. Last year I could hear them hitting the house a few times.

with Zaino, and the offense happening at night, without harsh sunlight....I'd say your paint is fine.

keep us posted if you find the guys....I'd love to see some *** kicking pics.

Egg DOES damage paint my friend. Egg is made up of Amino Acids which eats through paint. If you don't get it off in time, you will be left with permanent damage.

I didn't have any damage from the yolk, except for one pea size area on my roof where I forgot to wash and the yolk just completely damaged the paint. I do have one spot on my hood where the egg landed which is beyond buffing/polishing.

If you leave it on the car in 95 degree weather, yeah it might, but most egging takes place at night, so drying isn't as instantinous as in direct sunlight. I've had a car egged and the shell did all the damage.

unfortunately, i was a victim of this last night  . i washed the ride today and noticed some egg on the ground (most of it was) and looked up to find some of it on the passenger side door. luckily i had some spray wax applied, which made it easy to wash off with just a little elbow grease...

it seems the more you take care of your car and people notice, the more likely people would do things like this. JEALOUSY IS WHY...
