Car detailing noobie help? What products to buy?

I'm really new to all this car detailing stuff. I have a 1991 Lexus LS400 (dark emerald green or something) that my parents handed down to me. They didn't really care about their cars, so it wasn't well maintenced or taken care of in general. There are a lot of scratches and swirls and stuff and in general the outside of the car isn't in great shape, although there are no dents.

What are some good first products to buy, and what order should I use them in? All i've ever done in the past is wash the car, wax, then use tire dressing. I wanted to buy some of Poorboys S&W, but I'm not sure what else to buy to try to restore the car as best as possible. Are there any other recommendations? I'm only 18 years old, so my budget is probably only around $50-75.

Thanks for any advice.

Yeah, I would also like to know some of the products to use for beginners. I was also looking at poorboys, but I dont know what to get to make a "kit"

I wonder how my suggestion will compare to Steve's. I'd think you'd want some SSR2, PwC, a few mf towels, clay bar, PVA applicators, S&W is a must, I mean a MUST. :D A gallon of S&W is recommended as you'll be getting it in a couple weeks after your first small bottle. BnB for wheels, Natural Look for interior.
