well i live in the worst damn state ever. Pa where it was -4 and the wind was 60-70 all early morning 1am and on. the damn flat hard 400 dollar cover flew right off my truck, snapped the hindges and get wedged in between 2 trees. Now what is good for mobile detailing? I need to fit a water tank, small generator etc in the bed. it is only a 6ft s10 bed. Im still thinking a hard cover cause it lifts high, only bad thing is that you can fit stuff that is high in it cause it will not close.

hard bed cap is good cause you can fit bigger items, but harder to access them

How big will your water tank be? That will determine what kind of cap, if any, you can install.

Every detailing pickup I've seen that had a water tank could not accomodate any kind of cap or cover. They're too big.

oh. well i just did some reasearch and saw there are so many tanks out there made in different dimensions to fit anything. some only 20" high!! Of coarse this will be a small tank, but i can refill. I have more research to do, but i was thinking of a 40-50 gallon tank. That is most likley enough to do many cars. I have to go to the car wash and ask how many gallons of water per mintue are they shooting out. Those self serve joints they have around here. They give you 4 mintues for 1.50. Now i can throughly wet my whole car, fill up a 2 gallon bucket, wash and then put in another 1.50 for a rinse. if the timer stopped i could get a whole car done any size really for 1.50.

It cant be using that much water then. ill get back to you. I think those pickups who use like 500 gallon water tanks, there doing dealship stuff or just never really have to fill it much. I actually believe also, i maybe wrong, but that a pressure washer actually uses less water then a hose. It takes that water through a small more high powered jet and it seems like it is less wasted then a garden hose?

I'd stick to the higher cap just in case you need the extra room. Organize it so you have your tank filler near a window and that your most used supplies are near the tailgate.:)
