Canuba wax = to slickness of UPP

Hey guys,

Been detailing for a long while now but haven't heard of this site till I started my new found profession (no longer a detailer but still do work on the side from time to time).

I've recently started using the UPP and have come to love the slickness of its finish. I topped it off with meguiar's #16 but I find that it takes away from the slickness. Is there a carnuba wax that comes close to the slickness of UPP?

I've heard good things about the P21S Carnuba wax as well as the Pinnacle lines.

Any input would be much appreciated.

TIA

I have found most Carnuba's I have used used give a different feel to the paint than most non carnuba based sealants, when using either P21s or the Pinnacle lines the slick feeling is never quite as much.

Souveran over Megs #21 last weekend seemed to leave the paint feeling very slick still tho.

so to keep the UPP slickness I'd have to just stick with that one coat alone then and use their booster spray system?

if that's the case i'll save my UPP and use another paint protection system that I used to use at the dealership and top it off with Meguiar's #16. I do find though the feel goes away in a few weeks but got it back with the Sonus carnauba spritz.

One question though, I know it's backwards, probably wouldn't work. If I applied the UPP over #16 that probably won't bond very well eh? I may give P21S a try and see if I like it better. Looking for of a summer wax.

I was using UPP exclusively for a while, and I can tell you this:

#16 takes the slickness away from UPP

Paste Glaz does NOT

Nattys does NOT

so what does LS stand for?

Hm....I've heard good stuff about #26. Maybe I'll give the natty's and the #26 a try and see which one I like better.

thanks for the feedback guys!

You can put as many layers of UPP on as you want.

Yeah, I usually just add another layer when the slickness changes. The UGE spray isn't bad, but it's not a huge job to just reapply the UPP. Washing with Griot's Car Wash seems to work pretty well with UPP, doesn't immediately compromise the slickness (just washed the UPPed S8 with Griot's this afternoon).

Hmmm, see I always thought the opposite. #26 was not very slick to me at all.

Are you using the paste? I switched to the liquid and find it to be second only to LS in slickness?????

To the OP, LS = Liquid Souveran
