Can't get Swrils out

I am a little new on getting swrils out of cars but I have done a few. I was working on my girl friends car this weekend and it is a farly new car but has a lots of swrils in it. I went over the whole car with ssr2.5 and got almost all of the larger scratches out(like ring marks) and major swrils out. So then I wanted to get all fine swrils out and and spider webbing out. So i went on to ssr1 and it seemed to do nothing for me at all. I tried for like two or three hours and tried everything I could think of. Used more aggresive pads and softer pad. I finally gave up and finsh up my detail of the car with PP the ex-p and 24 hours later i put a layer of natty's on. The car really shines and stands out. Has a lot of depth in it also. She seems to love it and everyone else thinks I did an awesome job on it but I hate it b/c of the swrils. I might be the only one that really sees them (because I get up really close and examine it with the hawk eye). I want to beable to fix this problem if possible. I have to finsh taking the pic of it tomorrow or today(if the sun is out) and I'll post them asap so you can see what I'm taking about.

Does anyone have any ideas in what I can do to get the fine swrils out? I have to do something or I'll freak out agian next time I do her car.

what pad did u use the 2.5 with? sometimes it requires multiple passes to get all the swirls out, not just with 2.5 but with all products. was this done by hand or pc or what?

Assuming you are using a PC......In my very limited experience i have found that a PC is a great tool, but it just cant do what a rotary can do.

I can greatly reduce swirls in cars that I have detailed using SSR2.5 with a cutting pad. However, there are still some fine scratches that I can never seem to completely remove either. But these are the kind that you can only see on very close inspection and under certain lighting (such as the Halogen lighting I use to detail in my garage).

I would think that the Natty's might help reduce these by filling them in a little.

NavindraLR,

I was using a LC yellow aggresive pad to cut with using ssr2.5. Like I said in earlier post is that the ssr2.5 worked great for the major swrils and scratches but the super fine swrils I'm having a problem with. What do you think about if I tried DACP. I have need used that stuff but if anyone thinks it might work for my problem let me know.

Oh does anyone think that the fine swrils are coming from the ssr2.5 or the pad Im using? I thought about it myself and figured I give the ssr1 a pass or two with a LC white mild cutting pad but seemed not to do much for me.

Up for any suggestions.

You might want to try it with a polishing pad then if the majority of the marring came out. It could be micro-marring from your cutting pad that you are seeing...try using the 2.5 with a polishing pad and see what happens.
I would use the SSR1 after you use a polishing pad with SSR2.5. IMHO DACP and SSR2.5 are about the same in abrasiveness.

Give the white pads a try (be sure to switch to a new pad before using SSR1 or clean it out VERY well.

Hope this helps,

Scott

i used 2.5 on my dark green honda with a white pad with little to no results. I just recently used it 2 nights ago with a orange pad and it got 80-90 percent of the scratches and swirls. I was in a rush and I now have confidence in the poorboys products.

Also if you are going to use the PC use it in speed 6. Thats what I used.

When I have to tackle cars like yours, and I do all the time. I start with 2.5 an orange cutting pad on 6 and work the product in four ways on the car doing only about a 2 x2 foot area at a time. Then from there go to SSR1 with a polishing pad then to P-w-C and another polishing pad then finish up with sealant and or wax by hand.

I loive the SSR line up it has nade me look better than I am :hah :hah :hah

Sorry for the dumb question, but what is "P-w-C"?

If you use ssr2.5 why do you need to go and use ssr1? I did the entire car with the ssr2.5 and then the hood with vm and then ex-p. I will have to do the entire car again this weekend just because I want to do it again with the 2.5 and then follow up with vm or go straight to ex-p?
