okay i drove across canada from British Columbia to Ontario and got a lot of bugs on the grill that I cant get off. I have tried onr and chemical guys wash and gloss and no success anything you guys can recommend thanks.

Are they etched into the clear? There are "bug sponges" that when used w/ plenty of soapy water work great. You can try to clay them off too.

Yup - Bug sponges work great for this. It seems the link Bryan posted isn't working. Here's what they look like:

I drove to Honesdale PA this summer, down and back in one day to pick my son up. When I arrived the front of the car was blanketed in bugs. It was so sickly depressing as the rest of the car was mint. I onr'd the front and 90% came off.

I drove back and again pulling into my driveway the front was trashed. I applied PB bug squash mixed 3:1 and let it sit 1 minute, wiped it off with an eyelet MF bug cloth and it removed all the bugs without removing the sealant. The bugs were 1 or 2" up the hood in addition to the whole front bumper, air dam, grill and windshield and mirrors.

How do you guys avoid marring with the Bug Sponges?

I soaked mine good and long, used a gentle touch, and they *still* caused (admittedly minor) damage on Audi clear. Since then, I've only used them for tenacious bug-splats on windshields, for which they're great.

I use clay for bugs on the paint.

I have the same question, but I wonder if the marring is actually from the sponge, dirt stuck in the tiny little bug carcasses, or the bugs themselves. Anyway, it's too scary for me since I have seen marring from those things long ago. I have a 1:5 mix of 303 aerospace cleaner that I spray down the front grille and windshield with before I start washing. When I use that, I don't have much problem removing bugs. It doesn't seem strong enough to remove LSPs, or at least the Werkstat stuff I usually use. If anything remains after washing, I usually get it with Prime (AIO).

As best I could tell it was from the sponge itself. No such problems with clay,+ and I use both in about the same manner so the bugs-across-paint factor should be similar.
