Where can these sanding pencils be had that I keep hearing about for chip repair? I haven't seen them anywhere I've looked.

Thanks!:wavey

I found a sanding pencil at Pep-boys in their paint area where they keep some really basic body repair stuff.

For a pad cleaning brush you can go to home depot, buy a paint brush with plastic bristles and then cut them down so they're short and stiff. Can also do it to some other brushes to make some nice detailing brushes for use in the interior or getting wax off trim and emblems.

Try any Wal Mart. They have a 3M sanding pen for about $5.

I have that pen and I find it to be to wide for small chips. I would like to get one that is fine tipped like a pencil.

I didn't see one on westwood. Plus its too much shipping from them for just a pencil LOL

At least at Griots I can order from MF towels too.

I haven't seen the one you're talking about, but I have the one from Griots that is fairly small. Not as thin as a pencil lead, but not a whole lot bigger. Take a look and see how it compares:

Yes that is what I'm looking for:bow Do you know of a place to buy that local. I would hate to have to order on line and have it shipped just for that.

The 3M I have looks like the one in the link Burly provided. The sanding end is far too wide for small chips.

No, I haven't seen one locally, that's one of the items I put on a Christmas list a couple of years ago. Next time I'm at the CarQuest that sells paint supplies I'll look around a little closer.

If you do order it, those little paint swabs come in pretty handy also, but I have bought those locally at the CarQuest before.
