Canadian Tire Restocking...

4DR Turbo: Stay away from the Simoniz MF polishing cloth unless you plan to use for interior cleaning, very thin and cheapo...

I was there today. Got Billet Polish, Stoners IG and Trim Shine, and a pack of MFs(Black Magic, seem OK for interior, but thin). I also noticed they had alot of different brushes for cleaning wheels/tires. The one near me(Pickering, ONT) has had Megs MF towels for awhile now.

bboy850,

I hope your not talking about the new Simoniz MF when you say it is very thin and cheap? The new one that is 6.5 sq ft is very plush. It is the highest quality MF I have ever seen available in a store. I own several Magic/Miracle towels I purchased on line and the Simoniz Mf is equal in quality. They look and feel exactly the same except the Simoniz towel is huge.

The other new MF that Canadian Tire is carrying is called Microtek. They are exactly the same as the Concordia MF I purchased at Walmart in Niagara Falls NY. They are both from Calderon Textiles they just have different labels on the packageing for the ones they sell in Canada.

A few days ago I happened into a local Canadian Tire store and noticed they had a lot of new products in. which included (in no particular order):

Meguiar's Gold Class PASTE Wax
$20

Meguiar's ColorX
$12

Mothers Billet Metal Polish
$16

Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss Wax (Paste and Liquid)
$13

Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss Detail Spray
$10

Black Magic Tire Cleaner
$12

Armor All Oxi Magic
$7

Orange Blast Wheel Cleaner
$7

Orange Blast Car Wash
$7

Stoner Invisible Glass
$7

Yup, I discovered basically all that stuff today at my local Canadian Tire as well.

Also for MFs, I saw the Microtek 5-pack for $7.99 (I bought a pack of these). Black Magic had this 3-piece kit for $11.99 that had a wax, glass and interior MF, they only looked so-so. And Simoniz had the big 6.5 sq-ft one that others mentioned (labelled a "drying towel").

Other Meguiar's products I spotted there today that I didn't recall seeing at CTs before (at least the ones near me) are: #40, #6, GC Leather Cleaner/Conditioner (in a black spray bottle similar in design to the Quik Detailer maroon spray bottle), the high-gloss Tire Shine in the clear spray bottle, and Soft-Gel Car Wash.

One product I was disappointed not to find was Turtle Wax's Auto Glass Cleaner, despite the sheer volume of TW on the shelf.

4DSC - are you sure the Billet Polish wasn't bilingual packaging?

We made the stuff just for Canadian Tire, and I'm surprised that what you saw wasn't French/English
Yes, I'm positive Forrest... I thought it was odd as well. I'll check again at another store someday. Oh by the way: :bow for going that extra mile for the Canadian market. :D

I was at the north Richmond store. Stock seems to vary from store to store a bit, as I did not see Trim Shine or any MFs, and the stock of Meguiar's Pro line has always been inconsistent. I'm going to wait a bit and see what they have by the time detailing season kicks into high gear.

Did any Vancouverites notice the CT on CAmbie/Broadway area is GONE? I was on my way there today... big surprise!
Yeah, that was a big surprise. I drove by that place over the weekend and just saw this vast empty space... my only regret was that I MAY have missed a big clearance sale or something. :D

stevet,

No, I'm talking about that has been selling for, I think, a couple of years at CT...It's very thin, says polishing on the label, and I believe its on the CT website. I wish we had the ones you're talking about in Toronto.

I went to the one on No.3 road Richmond today and saw Stoners Trim Shine ($7) and Orangeblaster degreaser (forgot how much it cost, sorry), the ones that you wrote are all there also except IG.

Hi All

Which Vancouver store(s) have Stoner's Invisible Glass?? I phoned the Kitsilano store and the Kingsway store and they acted like I was talking Martian!! (Victoria is no better!)

Thanks!

You'll have to try calling up a large store I imagine. There are TWO stores on Kingsway. One is huge, and the other is a tiny hole in the wall. I've never been to the Kitsilano store (or don't remember exactly which that is... if it's by the Molson Brewery it's a hole in the wall too!).

Try the other Kingsway store or one of the huge ones out in the suburbs.

EDIT: I take it none of the Victoria stores have it? If not, you can always ask if they can bring some in to your local store for you. Either as a transfer from a Vancouver store (not sure if they do this), or through the Keystone Automotive Catalog (check this book out).

Good luck...talked to a Meguiars rep at a car show on the weekend, he said the Meguiars Canada online shopping should be up in 2 weeks and NXT was being stored in a warehouse. Personally, I'll believe it when I see it...

I stopped in a Canadian Tire store again today and checked on that Mother's Billet Polish. It DID have a bilingual label on it. Just thought you'd be interested to know.

I knew I forgot to look at something last time I was at a CT! :doh

Thanks, that is interesting....

Hey 4DSC

I called the BIG Kingsway store and they said if anyone (CT that is) in Vancouver had Stoner's Invisible Glass, they would. But they didn't........:(

Did you actually see SIG at a CT store in Vancouver? If so, I'd really like to know where??

Thanks!

Well that's a surprise, that place is pretty big...

I saw it at the No. 3 Road store in Richmond last week. If they don't have it they must be sold out!

I actually picked up the last can of SIG at that store a few days ago. I don't know if they have any left at the Ironwood store. I can try to stop by and check tomorrow and let you guys know.
