Canadian Tire Restocking...

A few days ago I happened into a local Canadian Tire store and noticed they had a lot of new products in. Grabbing my pen and paper I jotted down anything of note, which included (in no particular order):



Meguiar's Gold Class PASTE Wax $20

Meguiar's ColorX $12

Mothers Billet Metal Polish $16

Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss Wax (Paste and Liquid) $13

Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss Detail Spray $10

Black Magic Tire Cleaner $12

Armor All Oxi Magic $7

Orange Blast Wheel Cleaner $7

Orange Blast Car Wash $7

Stoner Invisible Glass $7



Whew! Needless to say I stuck around a while to read some labels. :D Some very interesting new products from Meguiar's and Turtle Wax. I'm happy that they've decided to carry the OB Wheel Cleaner, as I have found it to be both a good deal as well as strong. The hard-to-find Mothers Billet polish is there, but interestingly enough it doesn't have bilingual labelling (implying an imported product)... I saw my first can of SIG in person too. :)



One thing I noticed about the TW Ultra Gloss wax was that it smelled faintly of coconut, with solvent overtones though. In a departure from their other, older products, they recommend the use of MF toweling and (amazingly) do not suggest dampening the applicator for these waxes. Something I've always noticed about TW stuff is that they always tell you to use a damp applicator. :p Their QD spray claims it contains carnauba. Anyway, interesting looking products which I presume replaces their Emerald Series line.



I think the BM Tire Cleaner looks interesting, but it's not priced that cheaply and I found a funny message on the back of the bottle: "Do not let product come in contact with painted surfaces." (Or something to that effect.) Huh? :nixweiss



All these products seemed to have a stock number indicating that they were regularly stocked items, and not a "special buy". :up



Anyway, other than that I also noticed that they had restocked their supply of MF mitts and sheepskin mitts sold under the Simoniz (Canada) brand. Hopefully someday I'll come across those MF towels I've been hearing about too.



On another note, it seems that all the stores are having trouble selling off their huge stock of Black Magic Tire Tint even at discounted prices! :lol No surprise there!

I also visited the local CT and found all the products you mentioned.



The store I was in also had Stoners Trim Shine. I had been buying SIG local at Part Source. I wonder if they will be carrying any other Stoners products?



This store did have the MF towels. The Simoniz is a huge Miracle/Magic towel. I have one from Autogeek and it is the same in every way except size.



There was also a five pack of MF. They are the Concordia ones the you can buy at U.S. Walmarts but have a different label. Both come from Colderon Textiles.

stevet: Which Canadian Tire did you go too? I noticed you live in Ontario as do I...I went to the one closest to my house and saw the shelves were restocked but none of the MF towels you mentioned about.

I live in Hamilton, I went to the Canadian Tire store that is on Barton Street beside the Center Mall.



I am going to check out a few more today.
 
The ones are here also have a 'Jacques Villeneuve' product line which appear to just be relabeled Sonax products... don't know if they change the formulas at all but I'd doubt it.
 
4DSC - are you sure the Billet Polish wasn't bilingual packaging?



We made the stuff just for Canadian Tire, and I'm surprised that what you saw wasn't French/English
 
for all you Toronto boy's, wich CT in your opinion do think

carries the most stock. I find the stockyards CT (keele&st Clair)

is well stocked.
 
Is the stockyards CT similar to any local CT? Is anyone allowed to go there and purchase items? Do they carry the stuff mentioned in this topic?

Ya the CT here had it too .. all but the Sonax QD spray which I like.

All the ct stores I visit seem to carry the same stock and same amount of stock. I haven't found one to be better than another. But I've only seen MF towels at ct once in my life. They were very low quality Simoniz ones. I think I've pretty much seen all the other products listed in the original post.



I'll try some other locations and see what they have. Maybe I'll get lucky.
 
bboy850: not sure . I'm due to go their next week some time.

I will check for you, and send you a PM. I do know that they

carry the Meguiars ultimate wipe MF towel.
 
all these new products at ctc, ill be making a trip soon for sure, interested to try NTX wax, but have S100 and PPG lots left, may try MF towels though from simoniz?
