Canadian PC7424 potential buyers please read...

Hello fellow Canadians. :) My friend that works at Canadian Tire just told me that the PC7424 will go on sale in May. The exact date is May 25th. The sale price will be $179.99 plus tax of course. Head over to your local CT and see if they have it in stock. If they don't have them stocked then request an order for them. Also, my friend works at Meguiar's which could get us the buffing pads to accompany the PC7424. I'll get more info on the prices of the pads and backing plates. He told me the prices will be lower then retail. I'll setup a group buy depending on the amount of interest for the Meguiar's buffing pads. :)

Thanks for the info Max!:) I'll be waiting for May 25th. I'd definately be interested in the group buy for the pads.

A very good start for the interest in the Meguiar's buffing pads. Anyone from U.S. and Canada is welcomed to the group buy. I'll ship anywhere to U.S. and Canada. I spoke with my friend and he says he'll get the pricing. Does anyone know the retail price UAP Napa sells it at? Is it around CAN$25? I'll keep everyone updated. :)

Argh.. after i bought the PC in dec.. :(

Yes, the Meguiars pads will work fine.

My friend is off to the States till next week for a business trip. I can't get the pricing till next week. He did tell me that I need at least an order of six for one specific buffing pad in order to get a discount. I assume everyone wants a complete set for the first order. I'll keep everyone updated as the information is delivered to me.

Max, what pads come with the complete set?

From the Meguiar's catalogue I have up together a kit that is similar to CMA's kit. We have the cut'n shine wool cutting pad(W-4000 6"), softbuff foam cutting pad(W-7006 6.5"), softbuff foam polishing pad(W-8006 6.5"), softbuff foam finishing pad(W-9006 6.5"), dual action polisher backing plate(velcro system in 6.5" W-64DA), and softbuff buffing pads(W-6000). Any other buffing accessory from Meguiar's I can also get for anyone. Any other pad or backing plate I have missed just post and I'll get the pricing also. :)

softbuff foam cutting pad --> So this one is like yellow pad everyone talks about.

softbuff foam polishing pad --> this one is like white pad everyone talks about.

softbuff foam finishing pad --> this one is like gray pad everyone talks about.

Am I correct on the above?

What are the softbuff buffing pads(W-6000)? Are they made of foam as well?

Thanks Max.
:)

You stated you can get the cut'n shine wool cutting pad(W-4000 6") and the dual action polisher backing plate(velcro system in 6.5" W-64DA).

Isn't the backing plate bigger than the pad? How does this fit?

Thanks,

Rob

Hello everybody. Sorry for the wait on the prices. My friend that works ar Meguiar's had a longer then usual business trip. I think he took a personal trip after the business trip. He gave a rough range of the prices for the pads I have listed. Here goes:

W-4000 6"----$12.40 to $14.00

W-7006 6.5"--$14.50 to $16.00

W-8006 6.5"--$15.20 to $17.00

W-9006 6.5"--$15.20 to $17.00

W-64-----------$19.65 to $22.00

W-64DA--------$19.65 to $22.00

W-6000--------$13.55 to $15.00

All prices are in Canadian funds. As stated, these are rough estimates so you can get an idea of the price range. Of course, no tax. Remember, I have to order in quantities of 6. This group buy is open to anyone from U.S. and Canada. I'll post in abay also. Hope more Autopians participate in this group buy.

I am thinking about purchasing a PC7424 and my CT has them in stock, but could you tell me if the PC7336 is alot better or maybe what the actual differences are, the size of the counter weight is one difference but does this matter a whole lot, just wanting to know if anybody feels I should get the PC7336 over the PC7424 because its much better.

the 7424 and 7336 are identical tools, the only difference outside of the counterwieght (the 7336 comes with the 6 counterweight) are the accessories. The 7336 ships with a backing plate for use with adhesive backed sandpaper, a few sandpaper disks and the polishing pad. A little more bang for your buck IMO. Plus, if you are planning to use 6inch polishing pads the 6 counterwight is really essential and would have to be obtained seperately if you buy the 7424.

Dang! When I got it in May at CT (the discounted price), it just came with the pad and the wrench. No booklet and no wax. How much is this whole kit?
