Can VM really remove "light" swirls

I have used it a few times but not to remove swirls. I was wondering if anyone has been able to remove light swirls w/ it. I'm thinking about using it on my winter detail on my POV(personal owned vehicle). I have light swirls on it. Is VM worth trying for light swirls or should I just go w/ something else?

Try VM first. It will remove light swirls and other minor defects. If that doesn't get it, try Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze.

VM, IMHO, will only remove slight oxidation but it will "fill" very light swirling. If you for hiding minor surface defects VM will work great. If you are trying to eliminate a stronger polish (Menzerna IP, SMR or DACP) will be needed followed by something like VM, AIO or GEPC. If you already have VM, like Scott mentioned, give it a shot before moving up the scale.

I've had good luck with VM removing swirls as long as I use a polishing pad (white LC's are my favs.) Grey finishing pads, while leaving a really nice, glossy, slick finish will not really remove swirls with VM.

This VM on light swirls/micromarring thing is just gonna depend on the paint and, to a lesser extent, on the application method (hand/machine, type of pad, pressure, etc.).

I've removed *very* light marring from the Jag's lacquer with VM A(PC/Lake white "finger pad") but I can't remove anything on our other vehicles with it. Probably could if I used it with a rotary, but I don't see the point in trying.

Is it good on micro marring too?

Absolutely, on my black denali, #80 leaves some random-orbit micro marring, and I've been using VM to take it right out. I use it with a Megs yellow pad on the PC on 6. Leaves the finish flawless. But, like accumulator said, it really depends on the paint, as I usually don't need to follow #80 with anything on most paints.

Thanks guys, I'll be applying VM w/ the PC on Ford's clearcoat so we'll see how that goes. If not I'll go to the ole' trusty #80 which I have been having good sucess with. I definitly shouldn't need #83 or SSR2.5 the cob-webbing isn't that bad, but they will be on stand by in case.....
