Can this be fixed??

Altimazzz

I have owned this Altima since October. The previous owner did not care for it the way it should have been cared for. I thought there were just super stuck on bugs on the front, but upon further inspection I found that there is actually etching in the clear coat...Can it be fixed or do I need to spring for a some new paint???? As soon as I figure out how to post pics I will post a few.

depend how deep it is and also how long it sat on the paint.

Some etchings may come out with a light paint cleaner with a foam applicator pad and others may even require a compound such as Meguiars M105.

Either way, your best bet is to start off with something light in cut, and work your way up from there if you cannot remove the etching.

If the paint feels bubbled or looks 'white' like there is still something stuck to it, it is likely damaged beyond repair.

My son's 2004 Mustang had a similar problem on the front bumper. I used M105 with PC/Orange pad. Although it did not correct 100%, it does look a lot better. :D

Front bumper covers usually have some chipping and leftover etchings from bug guts, if they are routinely driven on the hiway.:(

After further insp by me and another body man....the damage is too deep to be completely repaired. It will have to be repainted. I am however going to hit it with some M105 to try to minimize what is there until I can fund the repair....thanx fella's:cursing:
