well to my surprise, i went to my integra this morning and there was scratches ALL OVER the hood. it looked as if it were done by a sand paper. anyways, i really cannot afford a new paint job, so what would be the best way to remove these scratches? the scratches are not ENTIRELY visible when you are standing above them, but are visible from an angle (when the sun or light hits it), and it looks white. they are many variations of horizontal and vertical scratches. ScratchX got rid of some of them, but I need something better. any opinions? please, im about to cry, lol!

Go to a couple of local detailers and get quotes. We have 2 scratch-removal options at our shop. Both are kind of scary.

OK, first question - can you feel the scratches with your fingernail? If yes, you (most likely) either need a touchup/wetsand/polish or a repaint. If no, you can likely polish them out.

Let us know and we will go from there. Sorry to hear about the vandalism, btw :(

when it first happened, the scratched up area felt a little drier than the non scratched, after i washed the car and tried the scratch X, its a little better and you can barely feel it, but its there :(. i just dont understand why anyone would do this? man :(

because some people are REALLY ignorant and don't repsect other people's property. if scratch-x is working it sounds like a good buffing will work. if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, take it to a good detailer in your area. good luck.

Sounds to me that they put something on top of the hood like grocery bags.....I agree that if scratch X is working then they might be fixable.....I would do what others have said take it to a local detailer and see if they can use a rotary buff that should lift the problem or at least make it look allot better
