... over a carnauba ( Souveran and P21S) or another brand/type of sealant ( ie. Poorboy's EX)?

The reason I ask is because Blackfire's QD is Blackfire specific and instructs not to use when a carnauba topper is in place.

From the 4 Star web-site.
" Ultimate Gloss Enhancer is 100% non-abrasive and safe to use everyday on all finishes."
Sounds like it should be OK.

Yep, no problem at all to use over carnaubas or other brands of sealants.

Although Platinum Ultimate Gloss Enhancer does not contain any carnauba, it can still enhance a carnauba finish.

Oxymoron?

Isn't that an oxymoron? It would be for me. I can't even keep blue or red swirl free. :p

Charles at one time I would have agreed with you :). But with all the knowledge I have learned over the last 2 years about ultra detailing this state of affairs ( swirl-free black ) is a reality at all angles in "natural" light. This is only true for my black "garage queen" which has not been driven in bad weather (yet) in 3+ years. With tools like MF's, EX, souveran, numerous grades of polishes and SMR's paint cleansers and knowledge of proper care technique I am now either able to eliminate surface flaws are hide their presence. I surprised myself with the results. :D
Then again, I could state the my Sig is my goal or I could change my Sig to "I love my shine swirl-free black Z28 which sits in the garage 24/7." ;)

I did read the product description but I did not want to assume that "finishes" included all types of protectants. Being the "mad scientist" I did run an experiment with my present protectant (EX, QD'd with QD+ and topped with Super Shine).
I was pleasantly pleased. It did a great job and may have advanced to my favorite quick QD. It may have been my imagination but it did appear to have enhanced the color (black) and was a dream to use ( zero streaking and hazing) and it was perfectly compatible which my present protectant regimen.

I've used it on P21S, Souveran, Adam's butter wax, Medallion PPP, and of course UPP. Works really nice on all of them.

However, I really wish Dwayne would sell it in bulk (gallon)! :D

Hey Boss! I can do that!

Ahh, that was the answer I expected to see! :)

I think I need to "experiment" a little more. I've followed the conventional wisdom which dictates non-carnauba or polymer based QDs for sealants and non-carnauba, non-polymer or carnauba based QDs for wax finishes. The three QDs I keep are; Platinum, One Grand Showoff and my most recent addition Poorboys QD+. I'm reluctant to put QD+ in the same category as most QDs since it's almost like a fresh coat of wax everytime you use it. About the only thing I see similar to other QDs is the speed and ease with which it applies and buffs off.

I'm still amazed whenever I use Platinum QD over UPP at how slick the finish becomes. They really compliment each other.

Soon I'll to embark on a little experimenting. I'm going to do the AIO/UPP on the wife's Taurus, wait the 24 hours for cure time then top it with Poorboys EX. I figure since I love the look of UPP and it is a pretty durable finish, adding EX with its resin and dab of carnauba may very well not only increase the reflectivity but also the depth and longevity of the finish. I gotta think that would be one well protected vehicle.

Dwayne,

When I make my next purchase, we'll talk about the "gallon" of the Platinum QD. That's the way I prefer to buy my favorites, when I can get them!

Thanks!
