Can i use a polymer sealant?

This is a new product routine im looking at :

1) Clay

2) Megs DACP

3) No.9 swirl remover

4) No.81 Hand Polish

5) P21s

Thing is, can i use No.20 Polymer Sealant and if so at what stage?

The car is garaged and the main requirement is a deep wet look shine.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers Guys, Mark

Thats an aweful lot of abrasives.....are you sure you need all of that ? Not too mention Meg's # 20 has a cleaner (abrasive) in it....You may consider leaving the swirl remover out.......DACP, followed by another light polish is generally considered adequate for most applications.....And you really cant layer # 20 due to the cleaners in it......at any rate, your sealant is your last step, before topping with a Carnauba....

There's been some discussion on various forums on this topic, but basically Mike Phillips has suggested that #20 is compatible with #7 and #81, and it's a combination.

I personally would skip #9. If you work DACP properly, you won't need #9.

So then you're left with:

1) Clay

2) DACP

3) #81

4) #20

5) P21S

so adding the sealant AFTER the polish, won't it remove the it?

A sealant , nor a wax can ever remove a polish,

'cause a polish isn't something you put on.

A polish is something abrasive that removes a tiny layer of paint so that yo can get rid of swirls.

After polishing and buffing, nothing of the polish should remain(except some minor dust).

A polish is a paint -prep- step

a sealant or a wax is a protection-step

The point is megs hand polish leaves alot of oils on the suface to give that deep wet look, will the no 20's cleaners remove them?

The word "polish" means different things to different manufacturers. For Meguiar's, it means the same thing as "glaze" does to 3M.

Mike Phillips from Meguiar's said that you can put #20 over #81, and it won't remove the wet look; I tried it, and you CAN DEFINITELY put #20 over #81 (or, in my case #7), and keep the wet look. Then try #26 over that.

Be sure to post your results and opinion as compared to the Autoglym stuff you were using beforehand.:up
