Can I top nXt with Optiseal?

I just waxed my car with nXt - can I dust the car tomorrow and apply Optiseal over nXt?

If the paint is absolutely clean, sure. You may want to use a QD after dusting. I never dust, btw. I usually don't touch a car between washes.

Don't you run the risk when dusting of putting scratches in the paint? Even small minute ones?

Well, okay - so not dusting then - I'll ONR wash again.



But Optiseal on top of nXt works? Has anyone done it? Curious how it looks.

try a test spot. then if you have no issues do the whole car. don't forget to report back you findings.

Wash, then top with Opti-Seal. Works fine, done it more than a few times myself.

Just an update for interested parties. It worked out decently - except that I left some streaking with optiseal.



That's my fault though - it just hurts to look at since it makes me look like a noob with a rotary. I guess next time I'll wipe off residue with a microfiber.

Thanks, I definitely did apply too much - got made fun off at the autocross since I'm the guy who shows up in the super clean miata all the time

Its usually paint sealer then wax imo.

Except for these are both sealants. I would do them in the order that he is doing them.

Yea, NXT is sealant marketed as "wax", which is a word most consumers are familiar with.
