Can I do this? ->

Hey gang, a fellow Club member has offered to pay me to remove the swirls from his car. It's a '99 Mustang GT convertible, medium shade of blue. I haven't seen the swirls yet, so I don't know how severe they might be. I don't have a PC (yet), but what I do have is a Waxmaster 7" random orbital, which runs at a constant 2600OPM/3000RPM. If the swirl marks aren't too bad, could I successfully use 3M SMR to do the job? Thanks for any tips!

i'm all for helping people out especially if they're payin'. but, i don't feel confident in using a machine on someone else's paint and definitely not my own.;) just consider what your thinking. you are asking how to use an abrasive with a machine that most here aren't familiar with. this could be disasterous. you could lose a friend. but, on the upside, you would be another step closer to Autopia regardless of the outcome.;)
