Do to the new water restrictions here in New York I am not allowed to wash my car at all!!! I really dislike those drive through car washes and am not sure if my local hand was will stay open plus I can't afford to go for $15 2-3 times a week! I thought I might be able to keep it pretty clean using a quick detailer everyday after work. Any thoughts on which to use? My car is about 5 months old a silver BMW 325 and has only seen Zaino since I bought it. I could probaly use z-6 but I am afraid it may get very exspensive after time. Does anyone know if I use another QD will it mess up the bonding effect's of Zaino when I wax? I am open to any suggestions....

LOL

I think Quick Detailing will be your only option unless you can find some place to hide your car while you wash it...

hahahaha.. poor poor guys.. suffering from mother nature and her ways.. Tell ya what guys, ill send ya 1 gallon jugs of tap water for $10 each.. if you buy 10, ill give you a 5% discount.. how about it?? hehe.. i wont even charge shipping.. :D

thats good advice and if no rain it should not get to dirty.Take it to a car wash once a week or twice a month and just QD inbetween.Do you park it inside?I Took the suggestions of some here and I use distilled water and cut the Z6 50/50 it works great just don't use this between your z5 or z2 coats.Take care good luck:D

You could go door to door and ask for water donations. Or maybe you should pick a busy street corner and stand there with a 50 gallon drum and a sauce pan asking for donations. lol I guess you could go to Sams Club and buy a bunch of bottled water or something. You could be known as "the snob that washes his car with Evian." LOL

I feel bad for you people in drought conditions. It really isn't a laughing matter but if we don't laugh then the alternative is to cry.

I sure hope CA doesn't do that! So. Cal has only had 3 inches of rain this season... guess we'll be pumping in more water from the Colorado River.

Thanks guys, they just announced today it's a $500 fine if your caught washing your car!!! I guess I am going to have to stock up on the z-6 and try a cut it with some distilled water too...

There have been watering restrictions here in lovely Taxlanta (sorry, Atlanta) for over two years now. While car washing is not prohibited, it is only legal before 10 am or after 10 pm, every other day.

I followed the rules for about six months, but I got sick and tired of seeing all of the office parks watering their grass with tons of run off. I just decided to start washing my cars again, when I wanted to, fines be damned (of course the fine is only $50 or $100 not $500). After about two years and hundreds of washes, so far no fines and on quite a few times, I have been washing when a police officer has driven by.

My advice, lay low for a while and see how tightly they are enforcing the new regulations.

I feel sorry for you guys suffering from no water for washing cars, so in the theme of forum friendship any of you want to drive to Kentucky are welcome to borrow my driveway, water, hose, buckets and detailing supplies to wash and detail your cars!

What a deal, also I work cheap if you need a little help, mostly in the way of good supervision. I did just receive a complete list of detailing products from Z1 to Z16, so come on down.

Bill:bounce ;)

Can Blackfire Wet Diamond be applied over PB Black Hole?

Some sealant "require" just the clean paint surface
Will BFWD bond correctly if it's applied over Poorboy's Black Hole?

Merlin,

Yes BFWD can be applied over Black Hole with no bonding issues. Black Hole is an acrylic glaze, and BFWD plays nicely with acrylic glazes.
