Can anything be done to reduce the PCs vibrations

Heh heh, I like Anthony's suggestion about selling the PC and getting a Cyclo :D But then you run into something like the XJS where the PC is actually a better machine for the job (gee, I hate it when that happens).

DetailGirl- Check out the Duluth Trading Company (something like www.duluthtrading.com, 800 505-8888). Master Series anti-Vibration Gloves, pn #56154, $44.99.

How long have you been using the PC? I've gotten to where it seriously doesn't phase me anymore. I'll once again link folks to the video I made for some folks on another forum. This shows how the PC (7336) looks/sounds under load with a 5" counterweight, 3M 5" hookit backing plate, and 6.5" Meguiar's W-8006 yellow foam polishing pad.

Just so y'all know, people were claming the PC would be easy to damage/burn paint with, so I held it in one spot on my fender at speed 6 for about a minute before working the whole panel just to prove them wrong.

8.1 MB, beware.... might want to do 'Right Click, Save As' on this one.

I took my PC to speed 6 today and the hook and loop started to separate from the pad, and the backing plate started cutting into the hook and loop section of the pad. 6.5 " Propel yellow pad, with Propel 5" backing plate. Don't really understand why this happened. Speed 6 really made a big difference in swirl removal, but I don't want to sacrifice pads to do it.

You could check out a material called Sorbothane. It is sold in sheets of various thicknesses. It could be glued onto the PC. The better vibration gloves have this, built in. I have a sheet of it (that i planned on using for a different reason) but i might cut it up, if needed. It is usually sold on e-bay as shoe insoles.

Your 5' 3"? Don't you use a rotary? Why not just use that instead of the PC?

I dont have any good flat pads. I only have the VC pads from LC and its hard for me being so small to manage. I need some of the Megs flat pads, but cannot afford them right now :( :( :(

I totally agree.

It is a myth that you need a counterweight with the PC. Call a Porter Cable rep and ask them.

Detailgirl, sell the PC and put some money to it and buy a Cyclo. You can use it all day and have no ill effects from the vibration. I could not use the PC for more than a few minutes on 5 or 6. I always had to use it on 4 for a comfortable experience but then it was pretty much useless.

Oh I would love to but the money I have invested in pads is enormus. Maybe next summer after I wear these pads out. I have about 24 of them.
