Hey Hemi57! The only information I know right now is that I'm going to Australia, tentative departure date July 18/19 2006 and departure July 18/19 2007. Rotary Club International hasn't given me a city or even region yet, and hopefully I'll find out soon! I've been reading a little bit on Australia but I have a feeling that all of my preconceived notions (or lack thereof) of Australia are wrong :)

If previous exchange students are any indication...they've, in general, gone to the Melbourne/Adelaide area. I believe very few go to the Sydney metro area, at least with my organization. Only about 7 students from the United States go to Australia through Rotary each year, which is dramatically low compared to other countries, in part because in the past decades U.S. to Australia students didn't want to come home and apparently were a problem for Australia (dole-wise? I don't really know).

pigeonbus, apologies for the delay in getting back. No matter which Aussie city you come to you should have a ball. Each is different and anyone who says they favour one over another or one is better than the other is their opinion only.

:LOLOL on the US students not wanting to go home. Yep Australia does seem to do that to people from the North Hemisphere :grinno:

I've recently got wind of my cities. For the first 6 months I'm going to a town called Warren, in the middle of NSW. I guess it's a rather small place...

For the last half I'll be close to Newcastle, in a town called Victoria, on Lake Macquarie.

I'm so excited!

Wow! Thank you so much.

That's a lot of help; I've been looking for a street map. What is Red Hill?

Thanks

From Darwin here. My batch of Chemical Guys (from USA) stuff just arrived. hehe. I'm gonna have so much fun with this weekend.

Who wants to see Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls, Berry Spring and the Lost City? Gimme a tingle.

Hope to see more aussies in Autopia sharing what we all love best...Car Detailing!!

Welcome Mr Glym.

Give us a review of the CG stuff when ready. I have emailed guys who distribute stuff in UK and must try some stuff soon

I'm not keen on the chemical part of their name. Most people think nasty harsh dangerous products when they hear or see the word chemicals
