#1. When do the Pros use a PC and when do you hand polish only. Is your decision product related, style and/or something else?

#2. If product related, please give a few examples of popular polishes, waxes and sealants and how/why you work them PD or hand?

#3. If product related how and why do you mutli-layer various polishes and waxes? I sense everybody has various "recipies". Give some "exotic" examples if possible.

(Include but go beyond personal preference and educate on the technical side of it as much as possible, please.)

1. By hand because I don't have a buffer. Now that Mercedes has introduced their CeramiClear clearcoats, I have no choice now but to purchase a buffer this spring, especially since one of my customers has a 2004 S500 with the 'C' in front of the paint code (which signifies the ceramiclear paint).

2. Meguiars DACP #83 and SFP #82 can both be worked by hand using a folded terry cloth towel, which gives more 'bite' to the product and also more even application and pressure. You should have no problems using any glaze by hand.

3. I prefer waxes/sealants that work well without layering.

Thanks, Scott, for sharing some of your hand methods. I think "we" beginners appreciate it.:usa
