California Car Duster

The worst I've seen is little streaks of the parafin they use on the duster. A quick detail afterwards with your favorite and a micro fiber towel and they are history. Mind you it is very hot in Houston at this time of year, so maybe the parafin would wipe of the just a MF towel by itself. Might leave a little parafin residue, even thought it looks gone. I think with the carnuba content in the QD I use will remove/dissolve all the parafin, so that why I use it.

Anything can create swirls. I did a pretty good job of creating swirls with it. I was most likely using it wrong though. If you are careful with it then its probably as safe as drying your car. Just remember: its a duster and not a mop. Just the strands should be touching your car. The whole weight of the duster shouldn't be on the car. I used mine as a mop I guess. Then I used it as a torch. ;)

A lot of us use the CCD. But there are rules if you don't want scratches...

1. Car must be basically clean and just dusty.

2. If there is any "dried-on" dirt from rain or other sources, don't use the CCD.

3. Never use any pressure.

4. Just shake it out, don't wash it.

5. Car must be protected with sealant or wax. The slicker the surface is, the better results you will have.

I've been using mine for almost 10 years without ever washing it. Works great.

I got one based on a recommendation from 4DSC and the rave reviews here. I love it. As luster said, use it for just dust, not after it has rained and the dirt is stuck to the car. Quick and efficient, and then you can also QD without worry.:xyxthumbs
