might be an odd question to ask...but how good is it for dusting INSIDE the vehicle? I was thinking of picking up a californian mini from Canadian Tire to clean the dash of my Accord, which has started to get kind of dusty...

The mini dusters work great and get most dashboards all the way to the windshield.

Just like any other tool it depends on the user. If you gently dust the paint you'll be fine. If you have dirt and mud on the paint and dig the duster into the paint, well you'll get swirls of course. You may see something that looks like swirls for the first few times but that is just residue that can be wiped clean with some QD. IMO it's a great deal for dusty clean-ups on well maintained vehicles.

Yep that about covers it. I use them religiously but when the dirt gets to a point you simply cannot use them any more and you must wash the vehicle. I actually dust the Mustang off daily as well as the truck however since the truck sits outside and once Dew has been on it i will not longer dust with it as the truck needs a bath at that point.

I wanted to update this post.
I still hate the California Duster. I wipe my black car with it and it leaves "paraffin oil" behind on the car. I left this thing on a bunch of newspaper for 4 days and it still leaves paraffin wax on the paint. Maybe on a lighter color car this is a champ, but on black, I can see streaks.

In addition, I have complained about an "oily" finish after using FX-100. Maybe there is a key to solve this somewhere.

Oh, I also dust in a direction perpendicular to what I do when I wash/dry/buff, so I'll know if any minor marring is caused by the California Car duster.

That's pretty smart, if I wasn't too worried about micromarring on my DD I'd make sure I do that all the time.

I think they are great in the Early morning, late evening or in the garage friend. Direct sun and hot vehicle foe.

In addition I flip it back and forth barely touching the paint. I don't use the weight of the duster.
