c6Z06 vs. '01 SS

That Camaro is VERY fast (around 600-650 rwhp), but in all fairness, the Vette was on the "spray-n-pray" tune and ended up hurting the motor on the second run.

Either way, it's two sweet cars, and that SS has beat some EXTREMELY tough competition.

Yes I heard the same thing. Something like both cars frying their plugs after the second run. It was still amazing as I thought nothing could touch the z06. I forgot though, in the world of modded ls1's (or modded anything today on the street), there is (almost) no limit that you can't reach. Funny though that they wouldn't take each other from a standstill, even though you can get killed as easy from a roll.

I can takem both. lol Ya, the Z06 blew his motor, two cylinders, according to my brother, who follows this stuff more than I.

I want my car to be able to take a Z06. :D Who has $15K I can borrow?

Oh, ya and the fastest ls1 is a trans am, hell yes. lol Like it matters.

Can't really blame them. It's tough to launch my car well from a dig, and I only have three bolt-ons (324rwhp.)

Start thinking about a 505hp car that only weighs 3,000lbs, or another F-body with twice as much power, and the launch is most likely the deadliest part of the race.

I don't know if I'd dump that much nitrous into a $20k + engine.

What was with the Camaro hesitating when it hit the gas? It sounded like he lost traction but there was no wheel spin? Is his curve just strictly high-end?

Good vid, btw. Hate to see a Z06 lose, but just goes to show you that anything is possible.

Zane: How deep in the 10's is the white one?

Sean - from what I gather, he's not much of a track racer. He does tons of street racing though. I think his best time at the track is somewhere around 12.3 @124...can you say traction problems? :lol

In all reality, something that beats a modded C6 should be deep in the 10's.

The trap speed is how you tell you're making power. 124 mph in the quarter is definitely getting it done. I betcha his cam really comes on in the mid-high rpms, because it really started to get up on the highway. Might be another reason they didnt run from a roll.

just had to put my input into this....yes trap speeds are what determine power and stone STOCK c6 Z's are trapping 127 mph. Therefore a sprayed z06 should have no problem at all trapping in the mid 130's and the "124mph" trap speeds out of the SS is no where near strong enough to keep up with that Z. The SS has to be much much stronger than that.
