Hey guys I haven't been on the forum for awhile.. Anyways I just purchased a C6 corvette for a good price with low mileage.. The owners from before had this car always sitting outside and has never been garaged until I owned it..
However, when I bought it, it had severe water etchings throughout the hood, bumper, trunk lid,
mirrors anywhere somewhat flat that water can settle and sit..
So I started using my Poorboys SSR 3 compound with a orange pad via portle
cable orbital... Then worked my way down to a SSR 2.5 and 1 with a white pad. Topped it off with PB Ex sealant and natty blues Wax.. The finished came out perfect and removed all the old marks... After the weather cleared up I went on a warm sunny cruise and after a couple of hours of driving I noticed that all the old spots appeared came back! I thought it might be a fluke and repeated everything I did the next weekend.. It came off perfectly. Drove it a little Saturday night. Examined it, it was fine and even tried a spot using rubbing alcohol and was fine.. Next Morning I let it sit in my drive way (warm and sunny) for an hour or so.. Came back to examine it. Everything started to appear again! I have no idea what to do, and the poorboy polishes im using has abrasives and aren't fillers... So they aren't hiding them.. It appears only hot sunny days.. Is wetsanding or painting the next approach? I'm so frustrated..
thanks!
