About a year ago I swiched over and started using Aquapel by PPg instead of Rain x. I love this stuff it lasts about 9 months and it is not a silicone, and it does not streak. I hate paying 10 bucks at a quick oil change, just to have the windshield done. Does anybody have any thoughts as to where this stuff may be able to be purchased wholesale? I would like to treat the side windows and rear window with it . Thanx Frank

Wow - Two coats + one all around. My aquapel doesn't seem to stretch that far. I love the stuff. How do you stretch one applicator to go so far?

Welcome to Autopia! :wavey

You may also want to look for the STP Vision Blade, which is the same product sold locally. It may or may not be discontinued though.

I applied Aquapel to 3 vehicles 5 months ago now, and the coating has lived through the (snowless) winter no problem. It's degraded slightly, but it's not a huge difference and has prevented waterspotting. :xyxthumbs

I do one coat all the way around, then I apply a second one to the windshield. I always polish the glass prior to application, so that may attribute to it spreading thinly easily.

I clean w/ rubbing alcohol pre-application and dry thoroughly. The polish may make a difference, but I wonder if the residue would impede adherance?

Its never seemed to cause me any problems. Beads insanely for months after application. I do clean the windows with ef clear vision after the polishing and prior to the aquapel.

Thanks for the tip - Maybe I'll try your tip before next application. Only problem is, it lasts so long, I'll have to wait 'til fall!
