Buying a new buffer.

hey guys. I'm about to buy a new buffer to replace my old P/C that's pretty much been the root of my problems lately. I'm looking and considering of these:

Meguiars Dual Action Polisher

Meguiar's® Dual Action Polisher G110 Product Information

Griots Garage Random Orbital

Griot's Garage Random Orbital - Detailing Tools - Tools - Griot's Garage

any pro's or con's for either one? Which would you recommend? I was really considering the Meguiar's, but then I got a gift certificate for Griot's so that's why it's up there.

I have the Griot's and it's ok. The backing plate is a 6" and you can't really buy others. I am rapid prototyping one, but I would avoid it.

Get a Flex .it's a cross between and Pc and rotary and still safe and works faster than a pc. Only drawback is the backing plate you need. 6.5 pads

Between those two get the G110. Griot's has plenty of other stuff to use that gift certificate on.

I agree the Flex is awesome But there is an edge adapter that allows for pad options.

Can u post the website or link for where i can buy this adapter.

i was holding off on buying the Flex bc u can only use 6.5 inch pads and iwanted to see what's the next machine that Flex will come out with.

But maybe i dont need to wait.

thanks

How does the G110 compare to the UDM? Anyone done any side by side comparrisons for power etc?

How long is the G110 power cord?

Just go a search for edge pads . You may have to contact them directly to find out when the next batch will be available

This Dual Action Polisher Comparison Chart should answer your questions:

Dual Action Polisher Comparison Chart - Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online

Keep in mind that the UDM in this chart is the original UDM, not the current Ultimate Detailing Machine by Porter Cable. For the current UDM the specs would be the same as the G100/PC in the chart.

TY for the chart .. Has anyone done an actual side by side between the G110 and the original UDM to see how the power does compare?

Reason for the questions is I currently have a PC and 3 UDMs, the PC is just fine, 1 of the UDMs is dead and a parts machine, 1 has been bastardized to stay running and the track record isn't looking good for the last one .

I didn't want to jump to the Flex because of cost and the backing plate size so was looking at the G110.
