buy gas based on politics?

Unfortunately, this does not make sense at all.

Oil is a fungible commodity. Currently the world is consuming as much crude as it is produced. Therefore, if your pastor is buying gas from an American-produced source, somebody else in the world has to buy his/her gas from some other producers (be Middle east, Africa, etc).

As a producer, I don't think they care whether their money is coming from consumer A or consumer B - they are still laughing all the way to the bank (and still is able to bankroll terrorist/hateful organizations).

I don't think we Americans want to hear the hard truth about this. We have 3% of the world's crude deposit and insist on consuming 25% of the total reserve. Well, some ones please do the math. We will always be giving $$$ to countries that are really intent to do us harm. Unless we are willing to change our comsumption habit (which is totally doable), we as as people should suck it up and continue to take terrorist's punishments originated from some of these countries which we are so willing to fund. End of rants. :grinno:
