Butchers Shower Foam Gun - Pricing

That's the same quote I got. I was going to get one from them, but they don't take web orders. You need to call! I tried doing that for about 10 days, but could never get time free at work. So I finally ordered a foam gun from AutoMagic. It cost more, but I didn't have to mess with a phone call. I expect it on the 12/6.

I bet they have the store where I got mine beat if he charges $15 for shipping too :nixweiss. His price is $55

I saw it even cheaper than that in another one of those web shops.. like $48.00 I think but again, the place didn't take web orders. I also got the same quote from Messener.. no web orders = me really not wanting to mess with it.

I wonder if there would be a discount avaliable for a group buy type of thing. I wonder how many would have to be bought for a big enough discount. Maybe ill message them again :)

They're not cheap, and they're not for everybody. But here's how I look at it:

Money and soap are renewable resources. Fifty-sixty-some bucks isn't much compared to what a car costs. Neither is shampoo, even if you use as much with the thing as I do. But paint and time are nonrenewable resources. If you mar the paint you'll have to polish some of it off- this costs paint and time that you can't get back. I do *everything* I can to avoid marring the paint, and the foam gun really helps. Not having to polish the S8, or even the minivan, for over a year is worth a *lot* to me.

[Edited to remove irritating typo :o ]

Same here Accumulator. That reasoning makes ALL the sense in the world to me :xyxthumbs

I just received my two GritGuards and my foam gun will be here Monday. I like Bill's method of having one bucket on each side of the car. Fortunately I ordered two GritGuards; one for each bucket. I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Regards,

Dan.

That's a lot of money. I think I'll just put soap in my mouth and spit on the car for that much.
You won't get good aeration that way. Better have somebody telling jokes to make you blow it out your nose.

I like the two-bucket-per-side method, even with the foam gun.

Sorry, I missed something. Two buckets per side? If one is the rinse, what's the second one for?

Dan.

Holly cats a foam gun issue and I didn't jump in. Sorry Bill I'm letting you down.

I at one time did put up the link to Messner's foam gun page. That is the gun I purchased. I think you are right it was around 53.00 plus tax. After looking all over the web and PMing Bill and a couple of other people I felt it was the best price. Nice thing was there is a Messner's with in 10 min of my home. I love my gun and I think the price is right. You can probably find a cheaper imitation gun, but in the end it probably won't be a foam gun and you won't be happy. I can buy them for everyone, but by the time you pay tax (5.5%), and shipping along with the cost of the gun, I'm not sure it would be cheaper. Somebody said something about a volume discount. That might also be possible.

I also did contact a few other place I found on the web that sold foam guns. Two of them flat out said they would not sell to me since I was not a janitor(that diappointed the hell out of me), and two others didn't return phone calls. At least Messner's responded to your e-mail.

I certainly wouldn't turn an interest in a sale, especially on a $50 + item. Those folks potentially lost quite a few foam gun sales if word spread here online were/how to buy from them. Oh well.

The Messners Foam Gun is $53. Not too bad, but the shipping and handling is $15!. Total of $68.

I think shipping and handling of $15 is steep. And then, you have to order by phone. I consider that a real hassle.

Regards,

Dan.

I guess thats what I am trying to say. I could pick one up for you and ship it. However it would be 53.00+ 5.5% sales tax. I'm not sure what it cost to ship it to your destination. If you want me to get you one PM me.

Heh heh, you sorta just missed the obvious! I still use a bucket of wash solution even with the foam gun Yeah, that's why I go through a lot of soap :o

I dunk the (rinsed) mitt into the soap solution before I use by "mitt-balloon" method with the foam gun. Keeps the mitt completely soaked with wash solution. Overkill, I know ;) but I'm just fanatical about the wash process.

This morning my foamgun started leaking around the brass mixing valve. All the abuse I put it through seems to be taking its toll, so I think I'll get a spare. Sheesh, 2 PCs, 2 Cyclos, etc. etc. and now two foamguns  I *am* sorta nutty....

Not nutty just more toy's:D

I just fill the two in one bucket setup on each side of the car with rinse water so i don't have to move the bucket all around the car but maybe now I'll set up a THIRD or even a FOURTH setup with soapy water too! :D Naw..thinking more clearly now, what I have is plenty good for even me.

Where do you plan to get a new one Accumulator? Now if I ever need another I'm going to have to rely on a phone order from the store where I got mine
