Business Finances viable for real income?

I've been messing around with some random thoughts, and I was wondering something.

If you were to setup shop(In the NYC area for instance), with a set building, and all the equipment needed, how viable is this business?

Though I'd appreciate as many numbers and statistics, your feedback would be most welcome.

I understand that commercial real estate would run a huge chunk of change, and I know there are insurance policies you would have to buy, and depending on setup equipment might be costly too...

I was just wondering...

Your business can be very viable, but there are certainly big risks involved. Due to the cost of real estate in NYC, your fixed costs will probably be higher than other areas of the country, BUT you should also be able to charge more money. I suggest you compare some detail shops in your area, find out what and how they charge, and find out WHY are they successful? Best of luck.

if you are looking for business advice on internet, its probably not the best business venture. do your own research to gain real information

lol granted kab...If I dive in it there's no way I'm not going to, but just getting some input from some of the guys who've been doing it...sheesh

sheesh?? my point was how can you trust what people are feeding you online, go to detail shops in your area and get real results

i tried to start my biz right by you in NJ and it was hard with the harsh winters there.. so i moved locations to a warmer climate.. i suggest staying mobile for a while and save the money on the overhead.. you have an entire season where people dont give two Sh*ts about their vehicle cause of all the snow and salt being on the roads.. if anything you will get washes.. but that could be my exp over there.. not saying it wont work but be careful....

yea figured during the winter months maybe i'll work in a package that includes cheaper wash/spray wax maintenance if they buy a winterize package in the fall
