Business Ethics Class - Interview needed

Hey everyone.

I am in the final weeks of my Business Ethics class and we just got assigned a project. I would like to ask some of you, preferably those who own their company or are in other higher management jobs, questions about a major ethical problem/dilemma that you have faced in your practice, workplace, or other organizational setting and how you solved it.

I understand that some of this information might be sensitive to you, so you and your company names' can remain anonymous if you wish. If you can help me out, please send me a PM with how I can contact you. I can either call you or send you an email with questions pre-laid out. Email might be the best option so that you can answer it whenever is most convenient for you.

Thanks!

Here's a unique angle that most small business owners wont speak off, and it's

quite difficult to do research on, but if you do manage somehow, you'll do very

well... A vast majority of small businesses do not fully report all their income.

A certain percentage is kept hidden and off the books (rather another book).

Some may say it's cheating but in practice, it's a necessary evil. And the IRS

is fully aware of this; they're not stupid... So, can a business under report revenue

and still be ethical? Absolutely.

That would be a great example for me to use. If someone would be willing to answer some questions about it. I can keep personal information anonymous in my report.

It's best to do live interviews with business owners that trust you. Seek out retired

(preferably successful) individuals. They're likely to be more candid and insightful.

You just might see that it has more to do with psychology/philosophy than imagined.

Suggested titles for your research:

1. Internal Revenue

2. Double Entry Bookkeeping

:)

I would be glad to help you out. 30 years with 3 top 10 companies plus my own business.

Sending you a PM.
