Business Clothing? Polo's etc?

We buy our emroidered polos and other shirts from kompressornsc.

Why? Cause he is an active Autopian, of course.

I have a 3 sets of polos and trousers for winter wear, these are black tops with my company name in red and dark beige trousers. For summer white tops with blue logo and dark blue trousers. I buy cheap polos at approx £4 and chinos at £6 from Primark, that way if they get covered in polish, wheel cleaner etc you can bin em. my local sign shop prints 3 polos for £20. For me you look far more professional turning up at a customer in a proper uniform. Tony at Cherished Cars UK even has an apron with company logo on, that he uses when machine polishing and cleaning wheels.

Good thread here!

I would opt for a lighter colour because it won't attract as much heat when you are outside. Sure it may look dirtier, but clients can't expect you to NOT get dirty when you're detailing.

For me, my health takes priority over colour choice.

Yeah, gray or those type of shirts that you used to wear in P.E. classes that aren't completely gray and aren't completely white, if you know what I mean. Those would be nice and still professional.

I've got questions again. If I am going to be doing polo shirts for that professional look, should I put the company name on the shirt and the employee name along with the company logo somewhere (left arm/right arm/right chest etc) ???

note: I dont have a company logo and dont know how to do one, although I do like the one in this thread its very good. http://www.autopia.org/forum/professional-detailer-general-discussion/111050-logo-do-you-prefer.html

I know where about I'm going to get my stuff done either aramark-uniforms or queensboro

I would recommend at least getting a start on your business identity before getting anything embroidered as business apparel. It doesn't even have to be a logo, per se, but at least a certain font and color that will be continuous throughout your business identity. It is all part of branding and I see that as being many times more important to your business than having embroidered corporate apparel.

Thats my logo! :D. I can PM you my friend who did it for me. he does PS stuff all the time on the side, so if you want I can ask him for you. All he needs is guidelines of what you want and he'll take care of it! I think I may use the name thing too. Have my logo on one breast, and the name on the other, or have the name on the sleeve.

Yeah, you definitely have a nice logo going for you.

I still have to figure out what logo I'm going to go with myself as I'm still continuously designing several ones every day.

I have always been a staunch opponent of the status quo when it comes to what one "should" wear. I manage the office for a manufacturing company and wear shorts and a tshirt everday of my life. Yes I am lucky and yes I am exception instead of the rule but it was one of the conditions of my accepting the job. When I am meeting with a detailing customer for the first time I will make sure that my clothes are clean, there isn't anything offensive on the tshirt I am wearing and will sell myself and my services instead of what's hanging in my closet.

So far, in year two of being in business and being booked out into mid November, I am very happy with the way my business is run. My customer are also very happy with my and my business practices.

When I actually get down to the detailing part I am always by myself and will always have a sleeveless tshirt and some sort of workout shorts on. My comfort is important to be able to do the kind of job my customers expect.

I see guys in jeans and a polo in some of the B&A pics and get a claustrphobic feeling...like I am in a straight jacket....wierd......I know....but that's just the way I am. Nothing bad against anyone that wears that stuff.....just can't do it myself!!

I have both polos and tshirts with company logo's on them I wear the T's 95% of the time I just hate the feel of the polo's I only wear them win I try drumming up new business or have a meeting with managers or such for lots I want to deal with. Other than that the T-shirt is the only thing I'll work in and the only thing I wear up here at the shop.

Which reminds me I still need to get some new ones made up with my new logo on them.

Just went to my local embroidme shop and got two polos(customer meetings, and for events), and two dickies style work shirts (for working on cars) with my logo on the left breast, and my name on the left sleeve all for a total of $232 (included the one time digitizing fee). Now it'll only cost me the shirt+$8 for anything else! During the winter I'll get a nice columbia style jacket for when I'm out and about (free advertising), and then I'll get a sweatshirt for on the job!
