Buses

These are two buses that I cleaned-up this past weekend. I learned a very important lesson...don't crawl around on waxed surfaces. Especially when you're 12 feet off the ground. To get on top of the bus and to get the higher verticle surfaces, I borrowed a rolling scaffolding (sp) from a local painter. It took me 17 hours to finish both buses.

They look nice. What did you use? I am guessing they were Emron paint and I always wondered how products worked on that.

Great job, especially for only 17 hours for two busses!! Was that only you at 17 hours for two busses or did you have help? Did this include your set-up and clean-up time? Just curious...

I used my PC buffer with a Meguiar's finishing pad, and AutoMagic WhiteMagic (cleaner/wax). You're right about the paint - Dupont Emron....and it's tough as nails. Emron's nice to work with IMO. The top corners of the buses were especially bad because of low hanging branches and such. It took alot of work to get those scratches out.

I remember when I used to work at a place that made custom boat trailers some of the trailers go Emron as well. Nice hard paint but I did not work in the paint dept. so I never knew how it was to work with.

Good job on the busses.

Thanks...

17 hours was for the exterior only and it did include set-up and clean-up. They said they didn't want the interior done. I really could have used it, too. I did have some help, in the beginning. I hired a young guy to help move stuff around as I worked around the buses and he skipped out on me 2 hours into the first bus (he didn't get paid).

It rained (hard) 30 minutes after I finished the 2nd bus... :dunno :wall

Get paid just the same!!!
