Bunch of newbie questions on wetsanding plastic

I finally got them today, and there are like 3 scratches that will definately need more than 2000 grit..but don't know what grit to go down to...1500, 1000???

Hehe, sorry Accord, I used no buffer, all done by hand, although I assume a buffer would have helped greatly.

Mark, use the finest sandpaper you can, if there is no or very little progress, then go for something coarser. That saves you putting in even more scratches. I really cant remember what I used, maybe starting off with 1500 would be a happy medium to get the scratches out. Remember, the coarser sandpaper you use, the more work you'll have to do later on to get rid of those tiny scratches you put in.

Well I got them and wetsanded them up from 1000 grit. I got everything except 2 scratches, but they look a lot better than what the looked like when I started.

I think on one part I went a little too far with the sanding cause even after using novus 3 on it multiple times, I still couldn't quite get it out. It kind of looks like discolored compared to the rest of the plastic, it's not really that noticeable unless you really look for it in a certain light...im guessing thats permanent?

Oh well, bottom line is they look a whole lot better than before, so im satisfied.
