bumper stickers on painted surfaces?

Practice makes "PERFECT"
Just wondering how you would take bumper stickers off painted surfaces without peeling the paint off in the process? I know if you heat the sticker up it, the sticker might would just peel off but im not sure. Anyone ever in counter this?

I have soemthing close to your situation. I tapped up my bimmer with blue painter's tape and maskin tape. Painter's was useful, but jeeze masking tape SUCKS! left so much residue and its sorta hardened / stuck on the paint. WD40 doesnt work, heating doesnt work, and i even scratches with a plastic card. Anyone got any ideas? I've heard of a special system TOL has.

I think majestics there Raleigh might have something that would work. Might can give them a call they might can help you out

There is a couple of ways a heat gun will take the sticker off just becarefull not to heat the area up to hot. I would use laquer thinner to remove any residue again becarefull with this stuff. 3M has a sticker remover product as well you might look into that as well

Use 3M Adhesive remover. Works great. My dad used Goof Off or Goo Gone on his paint and it stained the paint.

I have used Turtle Wax bug & tar remover on a black honda to take off 3M double sided tape. I just sprayed it on very thick and waited about 15min. Most of it came off the first time. A few more applications and the tape was gone. It even left a nice shine when I buffed it all out.

Which was it? I've used goo off before and I found it to be more stronger than goo gone, and it wrecked some plastic of mine. (not on a car) These products are not the same. I've been using goo gone for this reason.

Was it the blue painter's tape that left behind the hard residue or traditional masking tape :eek When I use my car bra I put the blue tape on the area it covers. It comes off pretty easy even ater sitting for 3 days, there was only one tiny spot that clay got right off.

Try some mineral spirits on a soft rag. Wipe it on, let it sit a few minutes and wipe it off. You will need to polish/wax and painted areas when done.
There are different grades of Blue Painters Tape. Some are just as sticky as regular masking tape but they do make some that can be left on the car, in the sun and will pull of easily.
Wal Mart has the easy release version in their paint section.
Most body supply stores also carry it.
