Bullfrog Fast Spray Wax, better than AW?

Fast Spray Wax 32 oz. - bf98198

I have been seeing this stuff at my local Ace Hardware, and I finally got some from the boat show in Raleigh, NC. I have used OCW and I regularly use AW, but this stuff looks promising. It's a carnauba based product (base 6 I think is what he said) and it says it prevents rust ( I dont know about that). I thought it would be great to go over my nuba products. I broke it out today when I was detailing my moms silver Bimmer. I applied my mixture of #16/P21s to the paint. It was really slick when done, but I applied the Fast wax to the surface. It applied even easier than AW and was super slick when done. Like UPP slick. It looked amazing in the sun and did not mute the silver flake. The rep. said that it sheets water rather than beads (I prefer beads). If this thing has more than 2wks durability, we have a winner. It may also be local, my local Ace Hardware carries it for about $10.

I will update about beading vs. sheeting and durability.

I haven't seen any carnauba spray wax yet that offers the durability/protection of a polymer (AW, AJT, etc). And, I could not live with the claimed sheeting action. I will always prefer beads through and through.

I would suggest that it needs to last longer than 2 weeks to be useful as well. I mean, most OTC sprays (E1, Mothers FX, etc) will probably go at least 2 weeks, and are also pretty easy to use. As for the prevention of rust with a spray (particularly carnauba)...well, that is a pretty bold claim, to say the least.

Yeah, I thought so. The whole line is rust prevention oriented. Sheeting is gonna suck though, but I did wash the hood again after application and it was more of loose beading. The main thing that I liked was it's ease of application and gloss. It's really amazing.

2wks is the average IME for spray waxes. AW has about 3wks or more depending on conditions. I figure if it can at least be more durable than the average, it will be my new go-to spray wax.

:nixweiss I get around 3 months with OCW.

Damn, hard crowd to please. I am just sharing what I felt was a comparable product to AW that may be worth taking a look at.

I generally dont get the same durability as some of yall say you do. OCW went about 4weeks with 2 washes in fall cool weather, garaged. AW, IME, can go 5wks or more when garaged but less than 2wks non-garaged.

Hey Brandon, I live near S'burg - howdy neighbor! I'll have to stick to AW though, if nothimg else, it sure smells good.

Where are you from exactly, June?

I am not saying to any of this that AW is a bad product, I have been using it on almost every car I detailed over the past year. I am just saying this new stuff is similar to AW and is easier to apply.

Just out of curiosoty, why beads over sheeting.

I used a spayable product from the Bullfrog line about 6-7 years ago, but can't remember if it was the exact product mentioned here. Bottle came with black label with green/yellow lettering IIRC.

I was using ProGold and Yellow Satin Creme Wax by Prowax as LSPs at the time and don't remember the Bullfrog really setting itself apart from what I was using.

Sorry, not much info, but it was awhile back.

Brandon, I'm south of Louisburg - but still in good ol Franklin county. Been here going on 48 years!

Well, if the detail day at my shop ever gets off the ground, you should come. Or if you ever need a space to detail without the cold, let me know.

Does anyone have any experience with their rust stopper products? Just out of curiosity? I know OT right....

Just inital application. I like the fact that they are enviro friendly and have some good review in the boating community. The product also thins with water so its easy to spray with your favorite sprayer. Ping me in a few years :D
