Has anyone used this product before?

As most of you know, I am new to the Detailing world. I've been learning a lot from these forums and still have a ways to go. I can't get every product known to man (yet..haha) but doing what I can with OTC products.

I went in to the local O'Reillys to look at their products (and because my brother works there, so I get discounts), and as I was looking at bug removers he reached down, grabbed a bottle of Bugs-B-Gone and said one of the local small car dealerships swears by the stuff. So I decided to try it out and see how well it worked.

I don't have any before pictures of my car as I didn't think about taking any at the time. Prior to me starting the hand washing of my car, the last time I went to the car wash, the pressure washers couldn't even get most of the bugs off. I was very impressed with this as I followed the directions on the label, and EVERY bug came off. Some took a little bit more elbow grease, but the majority came off with ease.

Per the label, it's supposed to also clean:
Bugs off windshields
Bugs off radiators
Smoke haze off glass
Soot off chrome stacks
Brake Dust off wheels
Algae off boats
Dirt off carpets

I only tested it on my front bumper, and as I said, I was impressed. I paid $6.99 for 16 fl. oz in a spray bottle. I wish I had something else to compare it to, but I don't so I guess this will have to suffice.
 
I've used it before, and believe at some point I even did a side-by-side comparison of it versus Poorboy's Bug Squash. I wasn't very impressed after the test with the Bug Squash - but seeing as how you could use the Bug B Gone versus nothing at all, I think it might be a little more effective (i.e. versus just soap & water).
 
Did you use a bug sponge with it or just use a mitt? For less than 2 bucks usually, a bug sponge is very handy and effective. Oreillys has some good products and if I got a discount there I would be there daily. Most of them carry the Megs Mirror Finish product line which is nice too.
 
Never seen or used it. I do have PB Bug Squash and love it, but this sounds like a nice alternative especially since it can be purchased locally.

Sounds more like an APC and pretty expensive for that.
 
My guess is that most bug removal products are some sort of APC. If PB's can be used as a pre-wash in addition to bugs, it probably is too.
 
I have tried most of the otc stuff and they work close to the same which is better than nothing. I just statered using the PB Bug Squash and i love that stuff. I think when i get a foam gun ill use it in the gun.
