Bug Removal

Am I right in thinking that you cant just get rid of bugs through a normal wash with a normal shampoo like megs gold class and a wash mit?

In most cases, carwash soap and a wash mitt will not be adequate for bug removal. Do you have a pressure washer? Sometimes a pressure washer will enable you to rinse much of the bug residue off before you begin washing. I usually presoak with an APC, and then rinse with my pressure washer. On really tough bug residue, agitation with a brush, or bug sponge may be necessary.

I had run out of clay so i was looking at other options. Totally forgot about APC. I ended up going out and picking up some more clay. Worked well as usual.

soaking with apc and then going over the bugs with a bug sponge has worked everytime for me. I dont want to look at my bumper though, i have a feeling the sponge causes marring

I use Turtle Wax bird, bug and tar remover. It's quick and effective fror bugs, horrible for tree sap.

Is APC harmful for paint? Specifically Simple Green and Super Clean. What dilution ratios do you use?

Maniac: I use a 5:1 apc dilution on bugs.
