Buffing car roofs

Guys how do you succesfully buff a large car or 4wd roof

This is my only weak spot at the moment. I don't feel safe standing on a stool or milk crate as it may damage the paint

I sometimes have to open the door and stand on the door sills but even then I can't get good enough leverage to prevent splatter and to buff evenly

Most cars are ok , it's the ones that the roof is almost six feet high

I carry a 4 foot twin step fiberglass ladder. No fear of tipping over or hurting the car, it is very stable.

I have the "poor man's knock off" of that type of platform ladder I got from Home Depot. It never lets me down and if I see the need, I can comfortably pick up a second one.

I have a 4' aluminum ladder I use.

You should also make sure you drape the buffer cord around your back so it doesn't drag across the paint.

I drape the monkey tail enclosed power cord over my shoulder and also clip it into a carbiner on my belt loop.
