ok, i know people choose between two types of buffer/polishers here.. aside from electric, how does air buffers compare to them?

Good question.
It should be kind of interesting to see the responses. I don't think that any or many mobile detailers would be using air. I think the air buffers require a fair amount of CFM's. That would mean a big air compressor. That is probably more of a stationary type. I do wonder if any detailing shops are using them, and what the pros and cons are?

We used pneumatic buffers for years. For a long time, they were superior to the older electric buffers. However, the newer electric buffers have changed that.
I would say.........
Pros
Pneumatic is lighter.
It has infinite (within reason), variable speeds.
Cons
It requires a good compressor.
The hose is a pain.
It is LOUD!

I have a 7336, there are just some things it cant do 
.
Ive used a buffer before (electric), now i need one of my own for a Sun. job.
Black Truck with 6 months of Hard.. HARD water spots. Used pc with 9, dacp, and their 2nd to the highest grit (forget #). Used all with seperate yellow pads, etching wouldnt budge.
I have a cambell compressor, can push a rotary.. just trying to figure out what is more economical... pros - cons for each.

We'll see. The Bulldog is a current design, and just fantastic for wetsanding. I'll try it as a 'replacement' for the PC...

I use it on my black car and there are NO swirl marks at all.
The best part is the polisher fell into my lap (actually my office) brand new, in box. All I had to purchase was the velcro pad holder!
One thing about the air buffer, you are stuck with using it where plenty of air is available. With the electric, you can use it anywhere there is electricity. While the need to take it elsewhere might never arise, I think I would still like to have that capability. :dunnocentral said:
