Buffer/Polisher

I need some input from you guys. I keep reading all over this site about people using power buffers/polishers. I am a dedicated Zaino user & am very happy with the results & was wondering if a buffer/polisher is a necessary investment. Will it make the results any better, or are they just to save time & effort? Also, which brand/type is the best (rotary or orbital)?

Thanks

For the novice/weekend warrior a random orbital is the best. Rotarys are not for beginners. Your needs would be best suited by a Porter Cable 7336 Random Orbital, $109 at your local Lowes. :up

Orbitals for abrasives....waxes and sealants by hand.

So if you want the easy way to remove swirls than get ya an orbital...

I used my PC for the first itme today with Z. It was mainly a time saver and I wanted to try somethig different. I got two coats from 1/2 oz of Z5 with Zfx. Would have done the same by hand.

Since I really like the PC it was nice using it. Considering 1 coat, wipe, Z6, 1 coat, wipe, Z6 takes some time. I may be using it more in the future.

I thought it was the 7424 or 7242 was the model number. I can't find the thread where that was talked about....but it had a video with a guy using it on the black Porsche.

Whats the difference between the 7336 and the 7424 or 7242?
