I received a PM from another forum of a possible referral for a job on a benz. I ended up receiving a call from the owner of the benz, and set up an appointment to look at the car. At first I thought ok, not bad, then I saw the hood. Wholly Moses. Apparently her dad had helped her get sap off the hood of he car. With a scotch Brite pad. The car was sanded on the hood and compounded and the car was polished, I had limited time but somehow managed to pull it off. All work done with a rotary.

The start.

The scratches

Bad Staining from something

Buffer marks

Polishing out the body, not perfect, but definitely a bit better

Murky trim

Fixing it up

Afters

Happy customer and referrer

That is the scotch brite hood

scotch brite?

Was he drunk?

I'm pretty sure even my mother, the owner of a 93 celica; a car with something on the metal which could loosely be called 'paint' knows not to use a scotch brite pad on a car's surface.

Good job Bryan !

BTW, have you ever used car brite products ? http://www.carbrite.com/

Just picked up some XTR non acid wheel cleaner and Citrus MP APC.
