and now I have swirl marks all over the car!!!

I brought my 4 month old Ming Blue Audi A4 into the body shop to have a dent and scratch fixed. Well they did a great job on the dent and the paint match, but upon further inspection, I now have swirl marks covering the entire car. Before I had a few minor swirl marks on the hood and trunk lid, but now there are swirls all over the place!!!

Needless to say I am very upset, so what do you guys think I should do?

Do I bring it back to the body shop and make the try and fix it?

Do I bring it to a professional detailer and have them try and fix it?

Do I try and fix it myself?

What do you guys think?

Maybe they don't know about it. Go up to them and say "The work you guys just did has a lot of swirl marks in it."

Sounds like they cleaned the car before they returned it to you except did a crap job doing so not taking the time out to clean it correctly.

I would go back to the body shop and ask them "Do you wash the cars after you fix them before they owner picks them up?" If they say yes, then complain about the swirls and make them fix it. If they say no; then their really isn't anything you can do. I would then try fixing it myself.

So I spoke with Sal Zaino about how I should fix this mess...this is what he suggested....

he said to try out the Z-5 first and see if that removes the swirls, depending on how bad they are, I may need to try out the 3M SMR, which is obviously abrasive compared to the Z-5, basically, he said to start out with lesser abrasive stuff and work up to more and more abrasive stuff if it doesn't help...

What do you guys think?

What is the next step in abrasiveness after the 3M SMR?

I.E., if the 3M doesn't do the trick...what is a little more abrasive that I could try?
