Brake dust on wheels too long..

Very. :dance

You have to pick the right time or you'll run into about 20 cops (or more). But I don't drive like a maniac so it's all good. I've got a 22 year old car and stuff breaks. Like this gem I just found waiting to throw me off a cliff.... :soscared:

Both front struts were like this. Front and back of them. Got some Tokico HP's in the mail. :p

Good Lord, that's scary. Glad you found that before disaster... yeesh. Enjoy the new Tokicos!

Here's a few pics of the brake dust problem...

First, the new SRT8 Style wheel:

One day's worth of brake dust. Not as much as usual, due to the fact that it rained/snowed all day yesterday.

that is NOTHING compared to what my STi kicks out... But I feel for ya bro...brake dust sucks.

OP: try P21S wheel cleaner - it works magic.

Both of my SRT8 Chargers kick out huge amounts of brake dust. So much so that it has to be cleaned on a daily basis. It's just unreal how much it kicks out. It even coats my doors! I'll have to grab a couple pics...

I've never let it sit long enough to really be a test of P21s's brake dust cleaning prowess. Used daily, it works well. Probably over kill, really. It's kinda pricey, though, and I'm looking for a cheaper replacement. Think I'm going to try some of your Griot's next. :)

I also drive a Charger SRT8. Mines an '07 without the black pockets on the wheels. It really is crazy how much brake dust those things shed. I've heard of the posi quiets that you tried but unfortuantely if we want the same level of performance it sounds like we have to deal with the dust. I've been using Z6 or Duragloss FC&S to try and keep mine semi-clean. I've been looking for something with more cleaning power. I see Duragloss has a chrome, alluminum, and all-wheel cleaner. Has anyone tried these?

superbee364- Those do look like they'd be pretty easy to clean..lots of room to reach in there to do the barrels and behind the spokes.

I go back and forth between thinking you oughta seal/etc. them and clean with shampoo or just *not* seal 'em and clean with Wheel Cleaner  Heh heh, I can't make up my mind on two of our vehicles either :grinno:
