Holy crap! I just read this on CNN. Found dead in his home at age 55. No signs of foul play. I consider him to be one of the best voices in rock and roll back in the 70s, and I love Boston's music. Sad, that guy could sing. R.I.P. Mr. Delp.

Heard this as breaking news last night on the local stations, it's really too bad. The Atkinson, NH police (just over the MA border) said it was 'untimely' and haven't ruled anything out. The report mentioned he was due to be married (??) in the next few months.

The news also interviewed some of his neighbors, and they all said he would come out and help them shovel, etc. if they needed it.

Brad Delp also sang in a Beatle's tribute band called "BeatleJuice"... a link to Boston's website said it all...

We've just lost the nicest guy in rock and roll.

Boston's music was my theme music when driving in BeanTown back in the 70's early 80's. Their mention of Pi Alley always brings back great memories of Boston when I pop the CD in when driving.

Day is night in new york city

Smoke, like water, runs inside

Steel idle trees to pity

Every living things thats died

Gonna hitch a ride

Head for the other side

Leave it all behind

Never change my mind

Gonna sail away

Sun lights another day

Freedom on my mind

Carry me away for the last time

Oh yeah

Life is like the coldest winter

People freeze the tears I cry

Words of hail their minds are into

Ive got to crack this ice and fly

Gonna hitch a ride

Head for the other side

Leave it all behind

Never change my mind

Gonna sail away

Sun lights another day

Freedom on my mind

Carry me away for the last time

Just as an aside, a group was formed later by Boston's Barry Goodreau called Orion The Hunter and they made one album in 1995. It features vocals by Fran Cosmo who contributed guitar & vocals with Boston since Walk On in 1994. First 4 songs are excellent, the rest....not too great. It does have some of that Boston sound though and its worth a listen.
